The Blue Tongues played their first games of the AIHL season this weekend, taking on the Sydney Ice Dogs and Sydney Bears respectively. Saturday's game saw a strong Ice Dogs team take a 6-1 victory home, but the Blue Tongues came back strong tonight with a convincing 7-0 victory over the Bears. Imports Brad Smulders (1G 4A), Henrik Ivarsson (1G 3A) and Andre Selander (2G 2A) led the Tongues with help from Chris Martin, Dave Upton, Marco Bertossa and team Captain, Ross "Rosco" Howell.
The Blue Tongues next games are on the weekend of 9 May where they play back-to-back games in Newcastle against the North Stars.
