It has been well documented that the Bartercard Gold Coast Blue Tongues got the best jump ever on a season by starting dryland training last November.
In addition to the training by the team as a whole, management of the Blue Tongues selected 4 players, Jack Connor, Jon Bale, Cameron Trew, and Dave Upton to particpate in an intensive Sports Performance Training program for four weeks with premier performance training group, Acceleration. Learn more about Acceleration at www.accelerationesp.com
Acceleration is a Queensland based sports training group with two centres in Brisbane, one in Townsville, and the centre on the Gold Coast is responsible for training over 400 Gold Coast athletes. Acceleration's is linked to many sporting organisations, and most recently the Gold Coast centre partnered exclusively with the Gold Coast United soccer (football) franchise.
Upton will be boarding a plane at the end of the month to represent Australia at senior level, so this is just the beginning for young Blue Tongues representing Australia. With the help of Acceleration and a successful Blue Tongue year we hope to see these boys and others like Eric Sewell and Alex Hall who represented and assisted Australia recently in winning the World Youth Championships, stake their claim.
