Due to an issue with the ice surface, the scheduled game between the Gold Coast Blue Tongues and visiting Sydney Ice Dogs was cancelled late this afternoon just 30 minutes prior to the start of the match.
The team would like to apologise for the inconvenience this cancellation has caused.
The AIHL website published a statement earlier this evening regarding the cancellation.
The Sunday game between the Sydney Ice Dogs and hosts the Gold Coast Blue Tongues has been cancelled due to unsafe ice.
Referees were forced to call off the game after the ice surface was found to be unsafe.
Both teams were unanimous in their support for these actions.
The AIHL will determine the fate of the game's results.
