Bartercard Gold Coast Blue Tongues had a nail biting finish to their road trip in Sydney with a spirited win over the Sydney Bears 7-5.
With less than 3 minutes to go in the game and the Blue Tongues two men short with penalties to Bob Sannemo and Matt Amado, Tobias Falk was able to breakaway and score the game winner and his third of the night for a much needed win.
Point scorers for the night included Tobias Falk 3 goals 3 assists, Mike Mcrae 4 assists, Matt Amado 3 goals, Bob Sannemo 2 assists, Alex Boyd his first goal of the season, and single assists to Ross Howell and goalie Luke Fiveash. Luke was starting his first game of the year after having been on the injury list up until this weekend.
The first game of the road trip on Saturday with the Blue Tongues going down 5-0 against the Sydney Ice Dogs will certainly be put into the team’s memory bank for this week’s training. Fortunately, the Ice Dogs are on the Gold Coast this weekend for two games, and the Blue Tongues have a great opportunity with two wins to overtake the Ice Dogs in the all important top four position on the ladder.

#88 Tobias Falk and #13 Mike McRae work to score for the Blue Tongues.
