Blue Tongues AFL event

Hello All,

The team is enjoying their two week layoff before tackling a very achievable 7-0 finish to the season and grabbing that 4th playoff spot for a historic finals berth in Newcastle during the last weekend in August. All and sundry have written off our team's chances of making the playoffs, however fortunately the boys aren't listening or reading or believing it. One thing for sure....they are believing we can do it....and won't give up until that fat lady sings!!

Last weekend the team and supporters had a fantastic day cruising up to Couran Point Resort, and we would all like to thank Couran Point for what resulted in a great time, and certainly an event to do again for those that missed out last weekend.

This weekend the boys are guests with their adopted brother club....the Broadbeach Cats AFL team who play in the Queensland State League. Quite a number of Cats players have come out and supported the Blue Tongues, and this Saturday is the first opportunity the boys have to repay the favour. Everyone is welcome to join the boys for what is a great day out when the Cats meet cross town rivals the Southport Sharks. The game and club bar has a great atmosphere....and I hear a few Blue Tongues are out to impress with their kicking skills at half time!

The club is on Dunlop Court, Mermaid Waters.

Kick off is 2.00PM and the team will be gathering at the bar from 1.00PM.

After this weekend the boys will be preparing for their next home games Saturday and Sunday 9-10 August against Melbourne at our home rink in Bundall.

P.S. Rumours have it that Gates (Gaetan Royer) was seen up in Airlie Beach this week during his week away, and he loves it so much up there he has started construction on his own hockey rink!!! Look out for the next new team in the AIHL...Whitsunday Reefers!!
