Blue Tongue is a Hit in Texas Zoo!!

The Gold Coast Blue Tongues Logo and Hockey Puck is soon to be featured in the most unlikely of places, the San Antonio Zoo, in San Antonio, Texas, USA.  The Logo and Puck will feature alongside a real life "Blue Tongue" Lizard in daily presentations held by the Zoo's Docent's (teachers).

This has been made possibly by Mr Bob Parker, a Docent (teacher) at the San Antonio Zoo.  Mr Parker along with other teachers work to educate the zoo guests about animals and conversation.  The Zoo has a large collection of animals from Australia which are crowd favorites, including Birds, Kangaroos & Emus.

Bob Parker states... "We, as docents, have a small collection of animals that we take out to show our guests.  One of my favorites if the big blue tongued skink." and explains about the logo and puck idea, "We often use things like that to show how animals are a big part of our culture."

According to the San Antonio Zoo & Aquarium website, which can be found at http://www.sazoo-aq.org, the Zoo is home to over 3,500 animals representing 750 species of animals on 56 acres. More than 950,000 guests visit the San Antonio Zoo annually - 123,000 of those being children participating in education programs and 100,000 school children coming on field trips.
